Ebonys Merry Makeover Black Tennessee Walking Horse Gelding Registered 16 years old 15hh Eb is my personal riding horse. I bought him in 1994 when he was 4 years old and he has been my constant companion since then. He has been all over the United States with me and has been ridden in almost every state in the U.S. He is a WONDERFUL riding horse. He has perfect ground manners. He does not have a single vice. A child can clip him, groom him, catch him, lead him, give him a bath or clean his feet. Touch his leg and cluck and he gives his foot, tap him on the side and say "down" and he will stretch and park till your stirrup is close enough to the ground for you to mount. He is very light and attentive to your every move and mood. He is a very sensitive horse and very very sweet. He is not the horse for a man or a loud person. He is good with kids and will never run off with you. Or without you, if you should fall off. He ground ties and lowers his head to be bridled and picks up the bit on his own, you never have to reach or fight with him. He goes in a Western or English saddle and in a shank bit or ring snaffle. He neck reins or direct reins. He stands perfectly still while you saddle, bridle and mount him. If you need a mounting block to stand on, he walks right up and stands there perfectly whether you are marehe barn or a picnic table or out on the trail, standing on a stump. He has been camping hundreds of times and stands tied single, crossties, high lines, temporary elec. corral, the side of the trailer. He comes when you call him and he loads and unloads from the trailer like a perfect gentleman, in the dark, in the light, in the pouring down crashing thundering rain. Or, in the sunshine, it's all the same to him. He crosses water or logs at a walk, he does not "hop" them. He will canter if you like, but he is not comfortable with it. He is very well gaited and it shows. He has been shown a few times in halter and in some riding classes as well. He has always at least placed if not won the classes. He has been in many 4th of July parades. He flat walks, and has a nice smooth running walk and does not rack unless you really get after him. I see no reason to force him, he is not fast. He has 33 horses listed on his original papers and 11 of them are foundation horses. He has the best and sweetest temperament and is very forgiving. That comes from outstanding breeding for temperament. He would be best suited for a quiet type person. preferably a woman and would really be perfect with an older women. ( my preference) He has one physical flaw. He has some puffs on the inside of his hocks, that he had when I bought him. ( I have a copy of the pre-purchase exam I had done the day before I bought him, that mentions these) They have never once even slightly affected him in any manner. My vet of 20 years will reaffirm this for you. He does have some sort of an allergy to tree pollen or mold I'm, not really sure which but my current vet can affirm this. He is sound and healthy and current with the vet, he just had his teeth floated. And is going for a current Coggins test this week. He has a brand new trim and has not had shoes on in about 10 years. His feet are really good and tough. (he is still great with the farrier). He is an easy keeper. I will not sell this horse to just anyone. He is very special to me and will stay here until I find the perfect person. Due to his allergy I will not sell him to anyone living in a humid or southern state. If you are interested in him, get ready to be thoroughly screened. And I'll want to speak to your vet and some personal references. I am asking $5000.00 for this horse, I am willing to negotiate some on his price and I am also willing to deliver him myself. I will work out a good deal with a buyer.
